无需灌溉的农田 "独龙江畔的冷木当寨", that's one of my fieldsites on which my thesis is based. And Mr. Li, the one who wrote the article is one of my Dulong brothers. We all are from that valley, born to it and fed by it. It is the last place where little industrial influence has been imposed. Local Knowedge has been maintained. Anyone who has been to that valley has re-oriented his/her life goal after s/he returned from the Dulong valley. Welcome to my hometown. hey, anthroman, it's very nice to hear from u :) r u an anthropology professor (or student)? yes, ur hometown valley seems a dreamland for many and i hope to visit it one day. but even if it is now a place where little industrial influence was imposed like u said, i was told that in quite a few places along dulong valley, traditional cultural have been disappearing. the outside world brought so great a strike to local people that they've, to some extent, given up their old ways of life. that is totally understandable. life is moving on. we lost something and got something new. but i was wondering as an anthropologist (i guess) who was born to the valley and finally merged into the outside modern world, how do u see the changes going on in the valley? and what's the role anthropology can play in this transition time?
my msn is ilbb_sy@hotmail.com
i'm very glad to know u.
